Heather Padgett Anderton is the Coordinator of Youth Formation here at Annunziata. She has worked at the parish for 14 years. She is passionate about the children and youth of our parish and making them the future of our Church. "Someday when its time to pass my torch, I want many of our youth to be able to fill my shoes. I do this for them, everyday."

Youth Formation has taken a new outlook on what was formally called CCD or Religious Education. It is no longer the desire of my teachers to just teach our children about our faith and Jesus Christ, but to form them into mature Christian Disciples of Christ. Our children are our future, and if we dont give them the tools now on how to live a Christian lifestyle, our church will cease to exist. Our program along with a faith filled family will ensure our church carries on from generation to generation.

Sacramental Preparations
We prepare children 7 and older for Baptism, offer a 2 year program for First Sacraments (Reconciliation & Eucharist), and also a 2 year program for Confirmation (10th & 11th Grade) Children should be enrolled in our program by 1st grade to prepare for First Sacraments.
They should continue their formation through their teen years. Sacraments are not stepping stones of faith, or a checklist. We cannot form our children without a complete journey from childhood to adolescents to young adults.
Mrs. Heather offered a Summer Adult Confirmation Class for those 18 years and older who are wishing to complete their Sacrament of Confirmation. Call the parish office for more info on our next session!

Sacramental Preparations
Every so often, our students in 6th-8th and 9th-11th are taken out of the classroom for Formation Night. We always have a specific topic, chosen at random from suggestions given to us by the youth, we have a game or activity, a speaker and them some small group time. The mentors and teens seem to really enjoy the layout of our formation nights and the break from the classroom.
